  • Details for engine support insulators

Hi all, I am installing new engine support rubber parts in the 64 T-cab with 289. My original ones are a soft gooey mess. The lowers look like they fit one direction (with the rounder part engine side) but the picture in the manual shows them going in the other direction (rounder part frame side) at least on the fronts. I cant really tell on the rears which way they show in the manual. Which is actually correct? I think I have the washers figured out from the parts catalog now. All of mine were deeply embedded in aforementioned gooey mess and looked like they were originally an integral part of the rubber. Thanks, Steve

The rounded outer edges of the large upper Engine Mount Insulators have to go UP, to fit into the cup shaped engine mount brackets on the engine and bellhousing, ALL of them!
The anti-crush sleeves, long bolts, washers and small lower rubber Insulators are all needed also, all the way around.

Hmm, response disappeared. Thanks Rich, That is how I had installed them as it seemed logical. Then I recieved my manuals and the pic in it shows them oriented the other way. My bolts/washers are a bit iffy so I bought all new hardware yesterday that I hope to get installed tommorrow morning. Since I do infact have the rubber oriented correctly it should be an easy task. Thanks again, Steve
