  • Makin' progress on the prototype thing...

Today I had some extra time, so I decided to get to work on my prototype turtle thing. It has steering, but never worked because it was missing a yoke. (It steers with two yokes and a U joint.) So today I went to SI and got two new yokes and a U joint. I then took the old brakets off the cart to work on them. I have never seen bolts so rusty, not even on my '40! They were so rusted and squeakey, they made the dog next door bark! That was enough for one day. Sometime this week it will have steering again and I can get it out of jims yard before he runs it accross the scales.

Use that PB blaster stuff and you won't break bolts.

I was actually surprised. As rusted as the bolts were, none of them broke. I actually wish they would have broke, it would have saved me a lot of work! I didn't have an impact gun outside, but the 3' breaker bar got the job done in a hurry.
