1953 2R11 3/4 Starter - Bench tested, and it spins fine, but won't turn the engine over, and freewheels from time time. During the bench test, the pinion gear and bendix barely throw the gear out to engage. I had it serviced, and the shop told me they greased it. I've cleaned it with kerosene, dried it out, but the bendix moves in and out by hand when disassembled. I am not sure how easily this bendix should travel in and out.
