Hi all! Dad sure missed being in the middle of the action at the National. He kept asking me to get some pens and memo pads out to Chris? and I kept telling him that we just didn't have enough on hand! Oh, he was so used to getting you all those pens and pads.
He was at my house today working on making calls (click on photo below), drumming up support for the Pacific Northwest CanAm Meet here in Bellingham, Washington, this coming September. He already called his friend, Butch, a couple of weeks ago, and sounds like he may travel up for it which would be nice. He spoke to a Pierce Arrow friend today who's car fits right in since it was made by Studebaker during the time period Stude owned Pierce Arrow. (Yes, I'm learning quite abit about stuff).
Last weekend, prior to the meet, my husband David and I flew to Los Angeles to meet John McCall (Kansas City) who is purchasing the first lot of pre WWII inventory and parts that Dad has available. Funny thing was while Dave and I were on the flyaway bus traveling into town, we get a phone call from a couple of Studebaker guys on their way to Arizona who just happen to call on the fluke that they could come by Lionel's garage. So we met up with them as well.
Things at dad's garage will all be liquidated but it will take quite a while. If there is something you are looking for, it doesn't hurt to send me an email so I can ask Dad, or pass it on to John Erb, who is taking over most of the post-war and performance parts inventory, or John McCall.
Needless to say, Lionel is doing very well and is making his way here in Bellingham. He and Dave attend the monthly Whatcom County SDC meetings.
Keep in touch all. Thanks. for everything.
