cigar lighter unit from a GT Hawk dash? The dash is NOT in the car so I have real good access to the cigar unit. See pictures...

Unplug electrical connector from post (pull off). Wrap shop rag around left index finger and insert in lighter socket from front to keep it from rotating. Grasp socket shroud visible in your picture with right hand and rotate counter-clockwise to unscrew (note threads concentric with elec connector post) until socket and shroud separate. Pull socket out from front of dash. Switch hands if southpaw.

That silver body on the rear of the unit is actually threaded like a nut...simply turn it counter-clockwise...remove the wire, obviously to avoid damage...
