  • Air cleaner help

Not sure what I have here. This is the air cleaner that was on my pickup when I bought it. All the pix I have seen of other M5's had oil bath air cleaners. First is this Studebaker? Does it belong on my truck? Sorry to be so dense but I figured someone here would know.

Yes, that looks like a Studebaker air cleaner. I am not sure about M5s, but Studebaker put oil bath air cleaners on cars that went to some states and dry ones that went to other states. I think it was based on how many dirt roads the state had.

    Check out this thread.

Thanks, that thread answered my question. I am planning on putting an oil bath on, once I do that if anyone would need this they can have it. It is not in show condition and the cap over the filter seems homemade but if you can use it you are welcome to it.

This was the same type of air cleaner that was on my Studebaker that I had in high school. I did a drawing of it in my mechanical drawing class.
