The last message I saw was from his mother telling him to clean his room. Has he been grounded? Inquiring minds want to know....

Yes,Matts only available on week ends.If he cleans his room and works on Mom's car.(joking) Matt.I would Like to congradulate Matt's parents for rearing there boy the way more kids should be reared. If more kids had and interest in Studes (or the x brands)this would be a better world.Less time for drugs alcohol and gangs that corrupt our youth of today. So all you parents out there ,buy a restorable stude and save a kid.Ok ,I'm off my soap box now.

Neil,
I guess you know Matthew's gonna be all embarrassed and blushing when he reads these posts, especially yours. I wish we could see him turning red! And then we'd pinch his little cheeks!

Oh, Hi Matthew, it's Friday night, are you on the forum again?

I guess we bragged on Matthew's behavior too much. He broke some rules at home and has had his driving and forum priveledges suspended. When he was younger his punishment was to not be allowed to hang out with Papa for the weekend. Now he can spend time with me,he just can't drive.I have to go pick him up like the old days. NT

He's a good kid Neil who will benefit greatly from being with Adults - I see a great future for him provided he goes to that restoration school he talks about and learns business procedures as well - like I told him, you're that much further ahead in getting a job and potentially taking over the business if you have that knowledge and your employer can see you're keen.

Get him to wash and polish all your cars - be great discipline for him, just like the movie The Karate Kid. (Smile)

Worked for me! ;)
(I snared young Matthew at an early age at a state meet, and got him to 'volunteer' to clean up my shiney stuff in exchange for a drive[}:)]) The kid did a good job..:D

Curtis was close, but instead of sneaking into the shop, he sneaked onto the computer when he wasn't suposed to. We spent Sat. at the Bass Pro Shop catfish tournament. Matthew spent most of his time keeping his two young cousins, Zack and Josh, out of the river. We went to the shop Sun.afternoon and worked on his Daytona and my Silver Hawk. I blew an oil line!! near catastrophie!!! Got it fixed and laid some more rubber. I didnt know how bad that clutch was slipping. NT

Okay, While I have driven many questionable pieces and parts of cars over the years, it was NEVER a toyota - we do have standards here. Matthew, however broke some standards - the rule is, no computer on week days; I left work before him Friday and had to run back home - caught him. I know he loves this site and figured he was checking out topics. Nope. He was on MySpace - a forbidden site in this house, and yes it was a girl. JUst someone in his class, nothing x-rated, but after these infractions, it was determined that perhaps a break from his privileges would remind him that that is what these things are - privileges. He is now using his newfound freedom to do a myriad of activities aound the house including mowing grass, cleaning up at Papa's shop, and at present, digging his Stude models out of the 2 foot dust layer in his room. I must say though, he's kept a great attitude - He said, "well, I got caught, it's just a shame that my big teenage rebellion was something this stupid". I read him Curtis' tale - he likes that one much better. He's also decided that this is a perfect time to save on rising gas costs and has even started hitting Papa Neil up about a paint job on his truck while "she's resting". Sigh..............the joys of raising a teenager...I'm sure this is payback for something I did way back when. DO NOT COMMENT, DADDY. Anyway, I appreciate your concern for the boy and his sentence is not permanent.
Thanks, Matts mama

Actually, his sister was the one last week who told him to clean his room, and seems like she called him a dork - she was on the grandad's log-in I think. She is not overly fond of his orange truck, but no longer hides in the floor when she is forced to hitch a ride with him. They have already reverted back to arguing over who rides shot-gun though.............Matthew is not thrilled that I am in "his territory" - this may be an even better punishment!

Don't give up on south bend yet. Maybe things will be back to normal by then. Talking about hiding in the floor, you should have seen all 3 of my girls when we had to take a load of stone to Fla. in an old school bus! NT
