Finally got a new company truck.

http://www.davesplaceinc.com/sdcforum/whoo-hoo.jpg

Kinda reminds me of Goliath's grill. [8D] (Required Stude content.) ;)

Did the "Tim the Tool Man Taylor" grunt all the way home with it! :D

Time for a contest... how does one spell the TtTMT grunt?

ARRRRRRRRR-AR-AR-AR-AR? [?]

Picked it up this morning, got the camper shell and bed slider installed this afternoon. Electronics next! Then, the winch, mount the generator and tool box, then the decals. (Function first.)

What can I say... I missed Lancaster, gotta find something vehicle related to be excited about... and, I spend more time in my work vehicle than I do in my personal ones. ;)

It must be fun - filling it's gas tank and knowing it's not coming out of YOUR pocket.[}:)] Of course, we ALL pay for it..... in the "end".[:0][xx(] Surely, your municipality gets some funds from the federal kitty, no?

Enjoy OUR truck, Dave. And when no one's in earshot, thank Bin Laden too![:I]

whaddya mean "when WE'RE done."? You gotta have help to do things 'n stuff? It's YOUR truck, YOU do the things 'n stuff.

Who's the other half of 'we'? Maybe that would make it all right.....

Maybe I should let one of my Tech guys have a look and critigue, eh!! ;):D All I know is that our department spends about $15K upfitting one of our "units" after its gets delivered from the dealer.

Sounds like a legitimate excuse to me. Especially since you have eyewitnesses.:)

Guess that means you wouldn't do what I did today on a service call. Got into a spa and changed the lightbulb. :D oh, ok, I admit, that sounds worse than it was. ;)

Beautiful truck, but I'm mad at Chrysler for having to build them in Mexico!

I thought about a stick-shift Chevy HHR as a second vehicle but bought a Cobalt instead. The HHR is on the Cobalt platform, but is built in Mexico when the (cheaper) Cobalt is built in Ohio with an 80% domestic parts content. Why the heck can't they build the HHR on a separate line in Lordstown, OH, where they build the Cobalt?!

Still, that is one sharp Dodge truck.

NICE!
The first good news was, "It has a serial number, it will be built as an '08."

The next week... "It's on a train, still in Mexico, north bound!

The next week, "It's in Kansas, on a train, south bound!"

The last report was Monday before last. While cruising that day, I heard radio traffic on my police band about a car/train collision in a jurisdiction about 40 miles north of me. Of course, I figured, "My truck is now a wreck."

If that particular train had been involved in that particular wreck, I reckon it must have survived without damage, as I got it today.

Anyway, the truck is here, and the pre-ordered '08 camper shell fit like a glove, so all is well! [8D]

That reminds me of a Chrysler that the dealership where I worked had on order for a customer. One day, the customer came in and mentioned seeing a large fire at the rail yard in Albany, NY. It turned out that his Chrysler was in that fire. We had to get a replacement car built for him - more waiting.

Dave, that's one heckuva nice truck. FAR better than that Toyota you were using. And just think, now you not only have the ROOM for everything you have to carry, you have the POWER to carry it all without difficulty!
