Hello!

After looking at the head casting # on my 55 259 I was suprised to see what I found. The number I found was (1)535976, I thought I would see the # (1)537555. From my reseach, the 976 head was 56-60. I found this a bit odd. P10922 (I=1) is my engine ID #, however I don't know what that means myself. From what I can tell my car was made in Feb of 55, its written on the back of the dash. Can someone help me clear this up?

55 Pres eng. #'s start at P101 in South Bend. Commanders are "V" they did a lot of strange things in '55, this is just another in the long list. Both Engines are 259 CID but the "Passmaster" 4Brl. was advertised at a couple more horsepower. Someone could have done a valve job and swapped the heads. The heads are export or truck 7.0 low compression like the supercharged engines use. All this seems trivial, as no one could tell any diff. driving your car!:D
