  • Another v-8 PCV 1559379 ?

I have a 64 Champ 259. As best I can figure the PCV is part #1558379. Has anyone found a replacement for this? No luck calling vendors so far.

Hey Don, did you read my post on the 1561585 PCV question? The one to Skip lackie actually gave the Original Carter # C3558S (this IS the 1558379)which he was going to try to cross over to AC Delco or other replacement unit. HOWEVER... '64 Cars get a 1561585 (screwed into the lifter cover), unless of course it has a '63 Engine or lifter cover! I don't have my '64 Truck parts catalog anymore, not sure it they are different! The 1558379 is a straight 3/8 hose nipple to same, PCV valve, which I explained how to use on '64's with screw-in type. Just make sure whatever one you use will draw full vacuum to the carb. and restrict flow to the lifter cover (bleed hole) to prevent crankcase fire and also allow crankcase fumes to flow to carb.
        Hope this makes sense, Rich.
