Just ran across an e-Bay ad titled "1963 Studebaker Avanti R2 R-2 Priced to SELL". The ad has a single picture of the supercharged emblem and three lines of text that contains the following information "This is a PARTS or project car, does not run and needs full restoration!!! No way can you get it running on the premises." [xx(] Now the kicker, the opening bid is $11,995.00! No e-Bay newbie here, over 16,000 feedbacks. Appears to sell Mopar stuff and must have seen a couple of JDP's sell and think he is sitting on a gold mine! :D

Guido,

Maybe we should suggest that he remove the needle from his arm?....or finally put the bong away with all the other relics of the 60's.

If anyone knows folks who play with Mopars they probably know or at least have heard of the seller.Frank Mitchell of Mitchell Motor Parts.Take a look at his store if anyone thinks Stude prices for parts are getting out of hand:)

John,

I overlooked that when I made my post. After viewing the pictures I know I have seen that car listed before, probably 12 - 15 months ago.

I still think Laemmle is right. The guy thinks this is like a Corvette or some other high dollar car. Granted, if one scrolls through the pictures, it's a nice car. What one can see. Interestingly, there are no pictures of the door panels, seats, or headliner. If this fellow is so familliar with e-bay, I have suspicions as to this ad and car. Why the coy games with the pictures?

Ron,

Take a close look at the supercharger bonnet on top of the carb. Looks like all the chrome is gone off of it. I suspect this thing has been sitting in the weeds for years waiting for JDP to escalate the prices so he can make a big score. :D
