  • Stude Farmers List - update - 7/29

Slowly we are adding to the list. If you can help, please do. I am trying to contact original group members to help reenergize this worthwhile legacy.

    Identified so far are:

    #2 - Bob Kabchef (Studebob)
    #3 - Chuck Naugle
    #16 - Phil Brown
    #18a - Jim Dowdy (between 18/19)
    #22 - George DeBono
    #26 - Charlotte Piper
    #27 - Craig Piper
    #28 - Lloyd Moore
    #34 - Dean Olson

#? - Diesel Jim (JIm Maxey)

Anybody that can add to it?
Also, does anyone know how I can contact other members of the original group?

IMMIC, I think John Ernst, Asa Hall, and Jim Fisher are in that group.
I know these guys, but the picture is not clear enough for me to identify them. Hope this helps.

I think that with the poor quality of the picture that it is best that folks look at the issue (November 1997) to see if they can identify anyone.

        To Dan Miller,
If I'm going to be able to contact the "Farmer" members named, I need contact info. Any help there?

        To Guido,
If I had a better picture, I would post it. This one was helpfully supplied by Dwaine G. I just put numbers on it and am trying to carry forward with the search.

So as Guido suggests everyone please, if you have the issue of Turning Wheels it came from, take a look and see if you recognize others.

Someone out there probably has a list of original Studebaker Truck Farmers. If you do, please send it to me. I'm trying to resurrect a worthwhile, fun project that can attract more attention to the Studebaker Drivers Club.

        Thanks,

              Bob,

I have e-mailed Sharon Hall to see if Asa was involved with this group and if she can assist in identifying any of the people in the picture.

                Thanks Dan and Guido,

I'll work Jim Dowdey in as 18a. No Problem.

I'll check my SDC Roster for contacts.

I knew Jim Dowdy (no "E") was part of the group but couldn't find him in the picture. I just noticed the hat between 18 and 19 this morning and thought that must be him. Last contact I had for Jim was PO Box 53, New Manchester, WV 26056 (304)564-5387.

I still have Chuck Naugle's address as 12785 Transtar Trail, Vail, AZ 85641 (602)647-3658. Don't know if that's still good.

I'll be showing the picture to a friend tomorrow. He should be able to identify a few.

                    Bob,

"Diesel" Jim Maxey responded over on the Studebaker Truck Talk site with some more names. You may want to contact him directly to match them up with your picture.
