This may be obscure, but I found it interesting none-the-less. This is something I had observed on some of these cars and the parts book bears it out:

What visible part, parts, or feature,(don't want to be too specific with my clues and give it away) was on 1947 Champions, not on 1948 Champions, and then returned on 1949 Champions[?]

Just verifying my info so I don't get attacked for being wrong[B)], and found this only applies to Regal Deluxe trim level. Too obscure[?]

Let me know what you think. Just found it interesting that they would use it in 47, not in 48, and then use it again in 49. I know there are many instances of this in the later years (start your own thread[}:)]) but for this era, it struck me.

I'm going to say the little spears on the side of each front fender. [?]

I know the bumpers on a 48 are smalled that 47&49 and the metal shield behind the front bumper 49 has one but 48 didn't I don't know if 47 had one or not

As soon as you find a product you like they will stop making it.

Matthew,
If you're referring to the jeweled ornaments on the lower sides, I believe those were accessories offered all three years.

ST2DE5,
47 amd 48 bumpers are essentially the same, just different mounting bolt holes. 49 bumpers wrap around on the ends. Amazingly, 49 and 50 used the same bumpers, I think.

HINT: Think interior;)

Judging from the number of guesses,:(you must all be waiting with baited breath.[|)]

The feature present on (Regal Deluxe) 47s and 49s but not on 48s is.....

The ribbed stainless trim across the bottom of the dashboard spanning from door to door, and covering the ash tray, radio front, and the entire panel where all the control knobs, etc. go through among other things.
The one exception to "not on 48s" is they still used the same ribbed trim over the radio on 48s.

Well, no correct guesses.[8] I guess I'll just keep the prize I intended to award to the first correct guess. That picture of Ben Franklin still looks good in my wallet.[:0][:0][:0]

That was a tough one! I did spend some time on more than one occasion looking for a part listed for 6G and 8G, but not 7G, and I missed it. I found that '48 Champion convertibles did get that trim after body number 7012.
Why was that trim not used on 1948 closed cars? I have two guesses. Since the Commanders used the same trim, maybe it was decided that a Champion should not have the same trim as a higher priced car. Or, maybe there was a material shortage.

Dwain: You've confused me. Re-read your post. Are you referring to parts you found, or the ones I'm referring to. Did you mean 48?
