The delete plate is shiny stainless steel, it appears to be red because it's reflecting the red leather interior. Good guess though.

I don't think thats a reflection ...thats painted red !

I doubt it's painted. Polished stainless will reflect everything, especially bright red leather. Either way, that's not it.

Matthew, there is nothing incorrect about that car. It is restored correctly as per the build sheet. For further info, go to www.1956goldenhawk.com and the newsletters pages. I believe its issue #43 that has the majority of the info on that particular car. The car was 'special order' and indeed does deviate from what the factory literature states.
