OK After a trip to band aid rack what is the best way to remove this stuff? I have pryed,pulled and to no avail. It will not come out. It has a really sharp wire inside of it I found out[?]

Use a dull putty knife to catch the inner edge of the material, then rock it inward (away from the "teeth" that hold the windlace) while pushing upward slightly. Work it without getting carried away & you can ease it out without too much trouble. Same deal as with the headliner.
I assume your talking about getting it out along the roof.

IMHO you need to remove the interior upholstery panels before trying to replace the windlace. In the older cars the windlace was nailed into a fiber strip that is around the doors. In the newer model cars the windlace is hooked on little metal tabs that were stamped in the body of the car. If the interior panels are off and out of the way it is a piece of cake.

Also, you didn't mention what model car you have. If it a later lark, you'll need to cut the windlace loose where it's close to the dash, as the dash is in the way of getting it out of it's retention tabs. When putting the new stuff in, you'll have to cut the material back in that area where it's closest to the dash (unless of course, you take the dash out).

Sorry my bad[:0] The car is a 60 hawk, and it is stripped. I took it apart when I was 15, now 30 plus years later it is going back together. I hope, old age has helped me forget where all the parts go.
