Hi Friends!
A friend sent me a copy of this letter that was in her July issue of "Good Old Days" Magazine. I thought I would share it with you and see what can be done.
"Wanted: birthday card shower for my dad's 95th birthday on Aug,2. He was a Studebaker Mechanic for many years and would like to hear from anyone who ever owned one. He likes a good joke, too. Send to Harold R. Nott, 2293 Rosedale Rd. Fremont, NE 68025. Thank You. Janice White, 140 Cantering Hills Lane, Summerville, SC 29483"
Note: I checked on the internet and found Mr. Nott listed in the phone book there at the same address but as "Harold E. (not R.) Nott". There is a phone number of (402)727-1667 for him.
I planned on sending him a card and small gift plus a photo of my '51 Champion Deluxe. I thought that others in SDC might want to do the same. Boy, What a milestone! Since Mr. Nott lives in Fremont Nebraska, wouldn't it be great if he was able to attend the SDC MEET in Omaha? Wouldn't that be a great 95th birthday gift!
I did send an e-mail to Art Unger at TW but I know that it's too late to publish anything in the magazine, but maybe at a later date someone could interview him for a future article. I wish I lived closer so I could take him for a ride in my Champion.
Well, There it is guys. let me know what you think.
Sincerely, Jim Caffrey Rochester, NY
