Just noticed a 56 wagon on e-bay. Seems to be a few of these showing up for sale lately. The VIN is V364584. I thought SB started with G13 ans Cal started with G39. Can this one be correct??? Owning a 56 2 door I am surprised (disappointed) that these wagons do not sell for these prices. Last week you could have bought one for $750.00 and this one is $850.00. I love mine I can't believe these are so cheap and available considering what the _hevy's and _ords wagons bring. O well, I guess I will be able to buy another one (cheap)once mine is completed. Have a safe and enjoyable 4th.

I didn't look at the eBay listing, but that looks like an engine number. Engine numbers were used by many states for the vehicle's VIN in the 1950s. What you are referring to is the serial number, which is now commonly used for the VIN. VIN stands for vehicle identification number and can be whatever number was used for ID, such as; engine or serial number.

I can attest to what Gary is saying....California
was one of those state using the engine number
as that is how they continue to id my 53 Champion.

There is hope. The wagon has been sold and taken off e-bay. I assume $850.00 since that is what he said it was for sale locally. Knowing what I know about these wagons that was a very fair price.
