  • Looking for information on any 2R truck body parts

On the lookout for [u]any and all</u> 2R truck (and any of the later models that will fit) body parts/sheet metal within a 1000 mile radius of San Antonio, TX. If it can be shipped for less than $100, then I don't care where it comes from. Thanks in advance for your help.

Check with Vern Ediger. He had a set of front fenders when I spoke to him last week. He is in Halstead, KS and can be reached during the week at 316-830-2271.

If that doesn't work, I have a cab with doors as well as a short bed, but they are located in Va., so it falls outside the 1000 mile radius. However, I might be able to get them to Vern's on a backhaul.

I am very much interested in the cab and the bed with two reservations. In order of importance, they are: 1) how much rust and 2)How much cost?

          Thank you.

Both are fairly rust free, but the cab has some minor dents in the roof. It is complete with doors (though I think the handles may be missing). As I recall, the floors are solid, no seat or frame. I would like $400 for it.

The bed is also solid, very minor waving in the floor and a straight tailgate. Very minor rust in the fenders, but there is a small piece out of 1 fender. Last I checked, it was under the seat of my rollback. I need $550 for it.

I used to have three 2R trucks, I sold them all to Lee DeLabarre of Fort Wayne, IN. You might want to check with him.

You say "any 2R trucks sheet metal"??? The front fenders of the larger 2Rs have a significantly larger wheel opening but will STILL fit the pick-ups. Are you interested in those too?[?]

                  Sorry,

I should have been somewhat more specific. I was admonished the other day by one of the parts suppliers that if I'm asking about a "truck" that means one-ton or bigger. I have a 2R6 "pickup" that I want to restore. That's what I'm looking for.

See, I could have sold you a front fender I have here (off a 2R16) and you'd have been surprized when it showed up [}]

Well, I don't think you should feel "admonished" by that vendor. That's just a vendor being specific for his own good purposes, if you ask me. Everything I've seen refers to the 1/2 tons and 3/4 tons as "trucks". Any Stude person should be content with you telling them the model number, and should be able to know right away what size "truck" you are talking about.

It's more difficult with a 1959. I currently own a 1959 pickup and owned another one a few years ago. As you know, 1959 is the one year that the pickup is not a Transtar, so I just refer to it as a pickup.

So now I see the pattern. If I want to get my posts noticed, I should start a fight over semantics.

But seriously folks...Guido, can you send me pictures of the cab and I already have two good rear fenders for the box. Would you be willing to sell the box without the fenders for $400?

Gary, "pickup" is sorta anonymous. How about 4E series (4E5, 4E7 ???) or even C-cab???
