A/C- authentic or modern?

Thinking a little long-term about my 57 Wagon...

If show points aren't an issue, which A/C would be better- era-correct, or a new set-up like Vintage Air?

Would like A/C on this car eventually; just wondering which way those more knowledgeable think I should go?

For a 1958 wagon, and I assume that a 1957 wagon is the same, the only A/C unit available from Studebaker (for wagons) was a big, ugly rectangular under dash box. I owned a 1960 Lark with this unit. I would recommend going with a new aftermarket unit, like Vintage Air. This will also give you a more efficient compressor. I also believe that you will have a hard time finding the correct A/C unit for your wagon.

I thought so, Gary... but I do love that big, ugly, rectangular box- very retro...[8D]

I am going hybrid with my Hawk, Underdash evaporator/blower and Vintage air compressor condensor under the hood. Vintage Air will sell just those parts no problem. They even have the brackets and pulley for Stude V8s.
