  • IoMT?

Recently I've had a few e-mails inquiring about my sig. line- as in "what's that mean, anyway?"

If you watch the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer cartoon (actually clay-mation, I believe) Santa rescues oddball toys from the IoMT and gets them to kids that want them... Jack-in-the-box named Charlie, lion with wings, etc...

A family member visited my place, which contains Studes, Lincolns, Ford Falcon vans, 54 Packard, 64 Imperial, 55 Desoto, etc.; most of which are either fair to poor, or barely drivers [8D]... after harassing me for having so many, and only my 65 Linc. Conv. fully restored, he named my place the IoMT... and it stuck...[:I]

To those wh wondered, that's the story... and I'm such a car nerd I wouldn't have it any other way!!

I drove race cars for 24 years; most of that time I owned my own racing team- named Bob Andrews Motor Sports...

Later, changed the family used car business name to Bob Andrews Motor Sales...

      Convenient dual-usage...

Now, can you guess what car number I was known for? (Hint: It begins with a 5....)

As a studebaker owner, you obviously have too much sense to own a "Le Car" (what the poor thing was marketed as in the U.S.).

                INTERESTING you should say that...............

I did in fact own sveral Le Cars... bought the first one as a joke; but it turned out they were a riot to drive! Soft, long-travel suspension made it a RIOT to hammer on- stuck to the road like glue- plus they were fun to roll over [:I][B)]

But the main reason we bought them was:

                Absolutely PATHETIC resale! Read:cheap

We were buying them 3-4 years old, low mileage, exc. condition for about $300-500!!

We'd hammer them till they blew the head, then throw them away...

Funny thing about them, if the starter went, you were supposed to pull the engine! [}] We'd just park them on a hill- till we figured out how to just cut a hole in the firewall with an air chisel- about 15 min. job then...

And just when you thought I might be human......[xx(]

Well...I've been wrong before, and I'll, no doubt, be wrong again.
I never figured a Studebaker guy ever having a Renault. Your experiences sound like real "car guy" stuff. I love the idea about the hole for the starter. Then again, the idea of function over form is what Studebakers are all about.

I remember seeing a Le Car years ago when there where a few of them on the road around here. Right under the panel that had the script that said"Le Car,by Renault" there was a large dent.Someone had painted on the words"Le dent,by Buick"
