  • Bought another R2 GT Hawk

They just keep following me home. It's a white 4 speed with red interior, disk brakes, TT, No tach ? (All build sheet correct)It'll be with Sal, my west coast dealer next week. Needs very little other then a supercharger and some cleanup.

I ask Sal to be sure and get me some detail pix, so that all he took. I guess I'll see the rest of the car next week. It's 63V1062, the 4th R2 hawk built, might be the oldest still around. 70,000 mile, unrestored Survivor that needs some detailing. Still has what appears to be some of the factory hoses, original paint and interior with new carpets. Lame pix here:

Very nice, John! Show the rest of it when you get the pics from Sal.

BTW, how rare is an R2 4 speed without a factory tach?...might be the only one made?

You might be right, maybe the first few did not have the tach sender sorted out, or maybe the guy just didn't order it. It turns out is was the 3rd built.

Pretty neat John. What is its production date? Does it have any other options usually associated with the R-cars?

I don't have the car or the build sheet yet, but it has disk brakes and power steering. It's the 3rd one built, so Sept., Oct. 62
