  • Oil pan gasket and rear main seal ?

I am replacing the oil pan gasket on my 63 G.T. Would I be correct in assuming that the rear main seal is not leaking if the front side of the torque converter is dry without any oil on it? The car has 52,000 miles. Thanks jimmijim

You will have done 2/3's of the work just to get the pan off...For not too much more labor, you can replace the rear main crank seal. As things can go, mabe the seal is not leaking now, but may start later. At that point you'll have to do the pan all over again.. Again, I would do both, then you're DONE. Take your time...
