  • PCV valve?

Anyone know of a good replacement for the PCV valve for a '63 V-8? Or perhaps have a good used or NOS one they'd be willing to part with? Apparently there is no modern interchange, or at least not one that any manufacturer of auto parts is willing to admit to.

I assume you mean the one for the non-R series, ie. the one in the valley pan? If so why not block it off and use one for the R-series that screws into the carb. Available at Napa for about $6.

I could do that, if I had a part number for that one

I believe it is: NAPA # 29267, Myer's Studebaker has NOS ones.

That NAPA # might be listed as an Echlin # not sure how NAPA might list it, can't remember.

Have the same problem in a 64 Champ. Can you be a little more specific for the less knowlegeable on how to do this conversion?

Thanks Dan, I looked it up and it is still available and the picture looks about right.

ddub - the "R" motor cars had the PCV valve screwed into the baseplate of the carb rather than inline. should be a piece of cake to "convert" - just get a new hose to the elbow.

only gotcha I see is, is the check valve in the right direction? but for $5 I will find out.

              thanks!

Funny - I was ordering some ignition parts for this 54 Champion two days ago and I noticed that my OLD Echlin book showed part #s for PCV valve apps in Studebakers. I ordered two of the 29267 valves just to have on hand.
Some of the other numbers in that book are NLA[V]
