View Full Version : 36 OVERDRIVE - NEED HELP

04-10-2006, 12:02 AM

My husband recently purchased a 1936 Dictator Studebaker.

The problem that we have encountered is that it seems the top speed on the vehicle is approximately 45 mph. Since we would like to take this car to shows, it would require freeway driving.

We have never owned a Stude before Do you have any ideas as to what would solve our problem and where we could purchase what would be required??

Since my husband is not a computer person I am attempting to try and help him via the internet.

Thank you for any help you would be able to offer us. It will be very much appreciated.

The simpleist way to deal with it would be to chase down the local Model A Ford club. They will be able to put you on to an aftermarket Over Drive Unit that you can install. You have to remember 45MPH was fast back then.

If you car is ugly then it better be fast.....
