Anybody have any suggestions on how a spare tire was supposed to be mounted on a 2R-10 Truck? Never seen one in any photos. Thanks.

doogietee,
Mine does not have one, either. But here's a thread on the Studebaker Truck Talk forum that discusses the spare tire carrier:

Hold on a minute, and I'll scan a photo from the parts book.

Okay, here's an image from the online parts catalog that covers 1949-56 trucks:

You can use those part numbers at the SASCO website: www.studeparts.com

By the way, the above image came from a manual on CD. If you don't have a paper shop manual and parts manual, this one can come in very handy. Here's where you can get one:
http://www.grogansports.com/satsoft/catalog.asp?CatQuery=100 It's the first one on the list, and it actually covers 1949-56 not 1948-56 as shown on the web site.
