Could be as simple as a bad water pump, generator bearing or a lifter. If it's a deeper rattle, could be piston slap or a rod bearing. I'd run it without the fan and see if it's in the engine.

        Pull out your dipstick.
On some engines if it is put in a bit off it hits the crankshaft and sounds like a lifter ticking.

It could possibly be the starter bendix dragging a little and not completely releasing. If it's a manual trans., could be the throw out bearing dry and rattling. Wow, tough to "hear" the noise over the internet. Just kidding. We'll keep trying.

You might want to unbolt the fan-blade and check it over carefully for cracks, as they were noted for developing cracks and breaking, first indication would be a "hard to locate" noise, next would sitting on the side of the road with a big dent in the hood!
There are recorded instances of owners being injured and even killed by broken Stude fan blades, so whatever you do, DO NOT just go out there and stick your head under the hood, revving the engine as a way of checking out the condition of that fan blade!
