Hi, my Name :Dieter Oskar Paul.
I am from Gremany.
I need information to a 1951 automatick transmission.
I canīt drive back with the car.
My car is a 6 cyl. four door sedan.
I have annother 1951 Studebaker Champion, 6 cyl. two door car.
I restore it later because there is no time in the next month.

Hi Dieter,

There's another transmission question on this forum at the moment and the person is having the same trouble that you are - no Reverse gear.

What he's looking at is the possibility that the rear engine mounts have gone bad from age and exposure to oil vapors. This can let the transmission sag so that the shift linkage won't be able to push the transmission lever into the "R" position. Consequently, no back up.[B)]
