  • Tranmission Fluid & air box

I have two questions re '57 Golden Hawk.

The tranmission has been overhauled and I'm getting conflicting information re tranmission fluid, ATF-A is no longer available, Advance & NPPA have F or FA. One recommendation was to use Dexron but the label warns against using in Ford tranmissions. What to use?

The second issue involves the Supercharger air nox -- it has 2 threaded 3/8" holes, one on the front and one on the top of the box. This is an older box as it did not have a "flapper" hole in the top. (I've since installed a flapper) but what are the two 3/8" holes for?

My Ford traney uses Dextron. I wrote Quaker State years ago about type A fluid ,they said use Dextron.I'm sure others will respond to your question.

Either trans fluid can be used. Type F will provide slightly firmer shifts.
