I have a 1940 commander 6 cyl with a blown fuel pump diaphragm. Does anyone know the modern part number for this pump or a crossover part?

There is none, just order a kit from one of the Studebaker parts vendors.

Jimmy, don't make the mistake of buying some old repair parts to fix your pump. The old rubber and the new formula gasoline will be a recipie for yet another breakdown![xx(] Buy the kit or rebuilt pump from a STUDEBAKER parts vendor.

"Buy the kit or rebuilt pump from a STUDEBAKER parts vendor." They probably buy them from:
http://www.then-now.com/The_Cellar/cellar.htm .
At least there's some good info on the Parts Cellar site.
Their kit, from SI, arrived without instructions; and with an older version of the stem seal washer. The Cellar sent me the formed washers for the stem seal, directions; and a note about how he was losing money doing this stuff.
You do need those directions. Some of the parts in the kit are a little different - I thought I had the wrong kit, at first.
