  • Happy Birthday Studebaker!!!!!

It was on this date - in the year of 1852 A.D. that Henry & Clem counted their $68 dollars of capital, considered the two forges they had between them and officially launched the Studebaker legacy. A legacy that has yet to have it's final chapter written and may well persist in not having it written for decades - eons - to come!

Long live Studebaker, SDC, all those involved with Studebakers and those yet to be concieved that will carry the story forward![^]

Imagine being able to stroll into that humble, little blacksmith shop (on this day in 1852) and then trying to relate to Henry & Clem how their venture was gonna go and ultimately end![:0]

Surely, you'd end up in the local lock-up![xx(]

Wonder what they'd thought of a bullet nose, Golden Hawk or Avanti?
Think they'd hit it off with Raymond Lowey?

It's absolutely remarkable how strong the name Studebaker continues to be. Mr. B, thanks for pointing out the 154th birthday of our beloved Studebaker. Is my math correct?
I get a kick out of seeing people's faces when they see my Stude at a car show. Somehow seeing a Studebaker brings a smile to a lot of faces.

Your math is spot on, Rog! I love the disbelief on folks faces when you point out to them that the company started out BEFORE the Civil War![}]
