Let's concentrate now on getting to Omaha! Many Studebaker wagons passed through there on the way west and many stayed when they got that far.
The Huskers and International Meet Committee have some great things going on and THEY ARE DOING IT FOR US!
That said, thanks to everyone who offerred their thoughts on planning for 2008.
Ninety-two members of the Keystone Region Chapter met in Harrisburg today. This was the culmination of a process that started in July. Many sites were proposed and many were dismissed for various reasons.
Everyone would like to host this in their backyard but: are there facilities? are local prices affordable to the average joe and the younger members we want to attract? are there additional local interests for those who don't wish to kick tires all day? etc.; you guys and gals know what I mean.
Six sites were chosen; a steering committee that included Keystone members and National officers visited each and reduced the choices to two: Lancaster or Gettysburg.
So, SET YOUR SITES ON OMAHA this year, the combined Studebaker-Packard meet in South Bend in 2007 and, on the way home, start thinking about
