While my 53 Starliner is at the paint shop getting smoothed out I'm getting the upholstery work started . I took the seats to the shop today [Hawk buckets up front, standard seats in the rear]. I'm going with a gray vinyl to match the dash. Eventualy as money permits I'm going to have the door panels redone to match the seats. Heres my question, near the bottom of the door panels there is a narrow [1/4" or less] piece of chrome trim that runs horizontaly from front to rear. One of my panels is missing this piece. Does anyone out there in Stude. land have one of these they'd part with? I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks,

Darryl,

A friend handed me a bundle of stainless trim about a week ago. "I owe you this" he said.
I don't know where he got that idea but I didn't ask. I just took it. Amongst the stuff (and ain't it funny - I was just looking at it today) was a couple of door panel trim strips. I'll have to measure one against my coupe's door and see if it's long enough.;)

Darryl, I did check the stuff I got but it's about 5" too short. How wide is this strip you're missing?

That trim piece on my 53 Starlight is 43 1/4" stainless. I believe that's the same piece Darryl is referring to.

I really appreciate any help anyone out there would provide and thanks for answering. Hope someone finds an extra one of these. Thank again,

And one more thing, the stainless trim I'm looking for is the lower of the two trim pieces on the door panel.

And 43 1/4" is correct. Thanks,
