Looks more like a Scotsman than a President to me. I know that John/JDP labeled the topic Scotsman, but the ad states that it is a President, or rather, a Pressident (sic).

I hope that car isn't setting and 'precedents'! It's way too purple for me.

Actually, a lot of precedents have been set on this forum. It's a nice restoration and it's unusual for someone to restore a basic car like the Scotsman. You're very limited as to how much you can actually realize from its sale.
My 2 cents.

I have seen restored Scotsman models. This car is not a restoration. This car is rebuilt, refinished, etc. To restore is to bring back as it originally was.

In over 30 years of working on cars,Ive seen very few 'restored'cars. People use the word'restored'way too often.
How can anyone call a purple Studebaker with purple and white interior'restored'.??? maybe a nice car, nice job, nice redo, nice custom, nice yada yada---- this is not a restoration.

The perfect second car for the young woman with the pink and white 57 wagon that was on "Car Crazy"!:)

I know nothing about these cars...what's in the gold box under the dash?

I don't remember exactly what it looked like, but the Scotsman sedan did use a simple box type heater. Maybe someone with the sales literature and/or parts book can look it up to see if this is a correct Scotsman heater that has just been painted gold.
