I have not used one on a Stude, but I have one on my Do#ge Dart. I have had it on there for about 100,000 miles, I like it better than the Holly 1V carb it replaced. The “late” versions of the BBD have a tin cover from which you can access the metering rods, and accelerator pump arm, a nice feature. The jets are the same as a AFB, but not the rods. Watch for wear on the throttle shaft.
Been a good carb for me, gave an improvement in milage over the 1V carb it replaced. Not a “leaker”, not prone to warpage, jets are easy to change, and various rods are to be had in junk yards.
