i have heard that tooth paste can take the wipper marks off a windsheild.

Now i have some lite scratches from what looks like the windsheild wipper arm. Maybe someone could afford new blades or something. but the scratches arent deep. I was gonna buy this $40+ windsheild repair kit from eastwood to fix the problem. But if i could do it with toothpaste what the hell?

I know toothpaste can fix CD's, can't hurt to try it. Not sure that it's actually abrasive enough to do anything though. "Glass Wax" if you can find it is good stuff, although it won't hide serious scratches.

Yes, as long as you buy the old fashioned type, or the type with baking soda in it...
The multi colored gel types won't do anything...
It's basically a fine polishing rouge.
You can use a new small buffing pad, or do it by hand.
By hand takes a lot longer, but is probably safer.

Glass wax was always available at super markets in the same dept. as Windex. You may have to look around for it. As was mentioned above, make sure it's the one with the baking soda in it.

Tarter control tooth paste has 2X the abrasive material as non tarter control tooth paste.

When I was in college we used bon ami to clean glass microscope slides. you should be able to pick it up on line at a scientific supply shop that sells microscopes.
