  • Transistorized Ignition Box

I removed the transistorized ignition box from my 65 Daytona parts car. Are these worth keeping? Is there a way to test them? Anybody need one?

Todd, if the car ran with the box installed and hooked up, then it works

I hear they were kind of unreliable; the transistors then in use didn't tolerate heat real well.

Those same boxes with Mopar markings on them are worth big $$ to the Mopar muscle car crowd.

Definitely keep the box; even if it doesn't work, it makes a neat display item, or potential trader. I have one I gutted out (it was dead) that one day I'll re-stuff with modern electronic ignition components.

The car had no engine when I got it so I couldn't test it. Good idea to stuff it full of modern components! I might just have to do that! I figure a bead blast and polish and it will look pretty cool!
