Carb and Distributor Questions

I got a '41 President 8cyl and the carb either needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Is there a carb made now that would be a direct fit or is my only option a rebuild?

Also, the points, plugs and wires need to be replaced. I would like to move away from the points setup. Does someone make a distributor that uses a Hall chip or some other non-points setup that I could put in? How hard is a distributor swap? I'm a real green shade tree mechanic... Othwerwise, anyone know of a place where I can get some new points from?

Studebaker International has all the stock stuff. I don't think you'd see enough difference in performance to make it worth eliminating the points, just my opinion I don't have any direct experience.
