My battery is new but I have no

You either have a bad ground, or the battery is not getting 12 volts to the back of the ignition switch.

What you need to do is disconnect that battery (for safety) and look at the connections on the back of the ammeter. They might appear all rusty and look like they've overheated. That and where the smaller wire comes off the starter solenoid on the SAME terminal that the positive battery cable is attached to.
It's that wire that supplies the ammeter and thus the whole car's electrical operations.
Does this car have a new battery as an attempt to CURE this problem or has the problem developed AFTER the battery was installed???[}

I disconnected all wires and cleaned
contacts. I don't know which one but
one of them made made it hot and BAM I
had lights and a turning starter.
