Sasco is reproing coil sprgs, would suggest standard duty. tried a set of heavy duty and they were too stiff and didn't come down to ride height. This was in a 60 4dr sedan. Standard springs-perfect.

I guess everyone's got a different opinion... IMHO the HD springs on my '55 coupe make it ride "just right." Of course my daily driver was a Porsche 944 for several years and a slightly modded Scirocco before that... I don't remember which car it was that JDP rode in but at one point he asked me if there were any springs at all in the suspension :) (hey, sucker would handle though.)

The HD springs are nowhere near as stiff as the factory springs in the 944, for example. To me they are a good balance between compliance and body control.

Moog part number for front coil springs for a '59 V-8 Lark (except taxi) is 3002. The number was classified as obsolete by Moog in 1973 (shows what they knew!). But who knows, some vendor somewhere may still have a set.

I'm trying to find the file....but years ago, I ran across a blurb on one of our forums that a mid west spring manufacturer made up a set of coil springs from the original manufacturer specs. I know they can do this for leaf springs....
