My 51 Champ sedan was last driven in '62 before being put into storage. The engine runs great but I'd like to hear thoughts on what I should do to get it road worthy. Obviously the brake system needs to be overhauled. Please advise as to parts sources, tips and tricks. Should I be concerned about the cooling system yet? What about clutch and transmission? An oil change would be in order too. Reccomended oil, source for filter?

Procure a shop manual.

Brakes, including lines and hoses,
Major tune-up,
Inspect wiring harness,
Freshfuel and filters,
Tires,
Fresh lubricants: trans and rear, wheel bearings, suspension, steering and u-joints. I recommend Shell Rotella Diesel-all for crankcase.

Find out what doesn't work before tackling the clutch. It may be fine.
Possibly need a carb rebuild.

Agree with Rockne, would also suggest Stephen Allen's ( mystudebaker.com) for parts; I've never had any luck with SASCO for my '51...
