hi all i was just wondering if anyone here could tell me how much a 1958 packard 289 golden hawk engine all original with super charger would be worth. i appreciate anyone's comments. my email is blademan69@comcast.net

Used but running? freshly rebuilt and detailed? Stuck solid and been like that for years? Hole or crack in block????

What he refers to is a 1958 Packard Hawk engine and the engine number should start with LS.
I agree with Bob/MrBiggs that we need more information as to condition before venturing a guess as to value.
Also, please post the engine number to verify exactly what the engine is.
At this point, I would value it between $100 and $4000.

A.: stuck engine, bad blower $500-$600 (kit value)
B : stuck engine, good blower $800-$1000
C: good used engine, good blower $1200-$1500
D: Rebuilt everything: $3000-$3500

Gee,Studegary! I must have mis-read! What I read was 1958 PACKARD 289,GOLDEN HAWK engine. That, to me, says he has a 1958 Packard engine,from a GOLDEN HAWK. Some People think these 289's were Packard engines.At least he's not calling it a FORD 289!

A lot of people refer to the Packard Hawk engine as a Golden Hawk engine. It is the same except for the engine number. I have exchanged info with the guy off the forum and he does have a rebuilt supercharged Packard engine with an LS engine number. LS could be a 1957 Packard engine or 1958 Packard Hawk engine.
