  • 1959 small 6 PVC Valve

Hi: looking for advice on converting a '59 small six truck's engine to use a PVC valve instead of the breather pipe. Is this advisable and if so can anyone suggest right part.

    Thanks

Sure, you can do it. We just had a fella here last week that was seeking a PCV for the later OHV 170 He found out that SASCO has them in stock. Part# 1561322 That same valve should work fine for the flathead 170.
Then you need the little adapter nipple that goes where the draft tube goes on your '59. It's part# 1559152 Then the threaded elbow that screws into the the manifold, just below the carb. There's no hole there so you'll have to (CAREFULLY) drill and tap one to match the pipe threads on the elbow. That elbow is Part Number G444165 (All these parts show to be available on SASCO's parts search engine. Total cost - about $40 + shipping. You'll need a bit of rubber vacuum hose to round out the conversion. Get that at a local auto parts store.[^]
