    Last call: 64' Lark/Cruiser parts

    Excuse the final post, but if anybody needs anything else off this car
    let me know. The car will see the hook late this week. Anyone who has contacted me, please confirm your needs so I don't overlook anyone

    Just a heads up ...alot of '64 cruisers had TT rearends in them ...have a look and make sure your not scraping a TT rearend.

        The guy I got the car from wants the R/A. It's an open 3.31. He's going to drop it in behind a 289 3sp w/ OD......

          That rearend ratio isn't really that good for a OD tranny
          . He's going to find in OD and arounf 60 mph the engine will be lugging.

            I also wouldn't put that differential ratio behind an overdrive. I am a believer that people can do what they want with their car. It might not be the best decision, but it is their choice. I know of a '58 Golden Hawk with overdrive and a 3.07:1. It has been that way at least the 36 years that I have known the car.

              He probably doesn't get it into OD until about 100 mph

                I can't remember the guy's name but ISTR some discussion of this maybe on the 56J mailing list, I think it was stated that he'd had it on a chassis dyno at a road speed of something around 140 MPH!
