Wiring harness and O.D.

I have two '64 wagons.[)] One has a new front wiring harness and the other needs it. The problem is the potential donor is an automatic and the recipiant is manual with an overdrive.[:I] Is the harness for the O.D. seperate from the rest? Will the new harness fit the other car?

The OD harness is separate on cars with manual w/o O.D vs O.D. I know this is true on a 1947-52 models.

Your harness swap should work. Both harnesses should have the red wire with a female spade connector, located adjacent to the throttle bellcrank. That is the 12 volt feed for the OD circuit. The remainder of the OD circuit is a separate harness, IIRC.

Check the current OD car's harness, and see if the lead from the kickdown switch to the distributor is built into the harness or separate. That would be the only likely conflict, IMHO, and could easily be remedied by adding a separate wire in any case.
