  • Anothother dumb question from the Stoogebaker

    Alright, Type 'D' auto transmission fluid isn't made any more. Can I use Type 'F' or what? Kevin in the Stoogebaker

    Kevin;

    I think most folks are using Dexron, at least that's what I have in Dee's Hawk.

      Did you by chance work for LeGardeur Intl. In the early 80's?

          Yeah - Dexron III is fine. You CAN use type F too. Some say you get a bit more firm shift with Type F. I think I'd have to drive the same car with total fluid changes before I could pass judgement on them.[^]

            Thanks Mr. B, Type F is what I'll go with then. I appreciate all the help you and everyone else has given me in this new adventure. I'll be offline for a few months after Thursday. Headed back out to sea. Thanks again. Kevin in the Stoogebaker
