OK, I wouldn't seriously think of doing that, but I do have a grease question.

I am currently installing 8E Champ front brakes on a 5E Champ truck. On both the old drums, the grease had gotten out around the rear seal and contaminated the brake shoes.

Have two containers of grease to work with. One is a newer all-purpose lithium grease that looks like stuff I have used/seen before. Other stuff is Amalie (in a metal can :D) and it actually looks like ear wax - yellow color and really pretty thick.

Would both work with the wheel bearings? I am leaning toward the Amalie just because I am not sure of the heat range on the other stuff. It is clear the original bearing grease was not up to par if it was able to melt to the point of getting around the seal and into the drum.

Thanks ahead.

Are there any statements about temp ratings on that Amalie stuff[?] If there's a question to either one of those lubes, a can of high-temp wheel bearing grease is a cheap investment.
