There's a few of them, no real "standard" ratio. You should have a tag somewhere on one of the cover bolts that tells you the ratio. Divide the little number into the big number and you get the ratio. OR, you'll have to pull the cover and count the teeth on the ring and pinion. Same procedure as the tag, divide the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number on the pinion to get the ratio.

Also the ratio may be stamped into the side of the ring gear. I dont know when they started doing that, I would hope from the beginning.
Should be stated as big # over little #. Divide little# into big#* that will give you your ratio.

      *corrected.

You meant "little into big", right Charlie?? [:0] gotti, the ratio was different given whether or not the car had an automatic or 3spd or 3spd O/D tranny. A car might even be special ordered if it was going to operate on a specific type of terrain.

        Miscreant at large.

            I believe, normally, without o.d. 4:10, with o.d. 4:56.

But then my '50 Champion has a o.d. with 4:10???
