Has any one ever installed a floor shifter in 62 lark with
overdrive trans.
if so how would go about it and what kind or brand to use.
I would like to change over to automatic but i am afraid thats a little
costly at present.
thanks

I've never put a floor shifter in a Hawk, but I've put them in a few others. Just find yourself one of the many aftermarket shifters out there and you should be fine. Hurst is probably the first choice, it would be mine. You'll have to cut a hole in the floor, and make sure that you have plenty of room for the handle to move without hitting the seat, etc. The good news about quality aftermarket shifters is that they offer many different handle designs. It's actually pretty easy to find one that will work for you.

One note, there's a tendency to make the hole in the floor too big. Be cautious about the size hole that you actually need, measure carefully, make it just big enough.
