an original running '62 hawk has come up for sale locally. registered and runs but need restored. straight body but rusty floors. he asking $2,000.00. seems like an ok buy...... im unfamiliar with studebakers. any suggestions ?, thanks.

If you just want a Studebaker to drive, this car may fit the bill. If you are looking to restore a Studebaker or at least make it nice enough to take to shows, buy the best car that you can with the least amount of rust. You will spend more on rust repair than the difference in cost of the cars and the repaired car still will not be as nice.Gary L.

If the fenders are reasonably straight and rust-free, then it is worth that in parts.
