Just got a Chassis Parts Catalog for 51, 52, 53, & 54 Series. Great book but I need your help now. My car is a bullit nose. 1950 or 51 correct? It is supposed to be a 51, but I found 2 insurance cards in it where it was insured as a 52. Now I look up the numbers in this book and they say 52. My serial No. plate is on the Left Front Door Hinge Pillar. Serial No. is GII 91852. The model plate under the hood has 12G-W5 on it ( 12G =52 Champion W5=4 door Regal 51-54 champ).
What the heck have I got?????
Can you put a bullit nose front end on a 52? I dont think so.

Yes, you could put a bullet nose front on a 1952, though I have no idea why. Also, some cars late in a model year may have been titled as the next year's model. Not being terribly familiar with those years, I will defer to someone who has more savvy on them.

Sounds like you have a '52 hotrod Donnie. What does the title/registration say? The numbers you gave say '52, and you can put a '50 or '51 front end on a '52 pretty easily, I've seen a few of them done. Anyway, there IS good news, you have the steering and drivetrain that allows you to upgrade with the newer Stude stuff real easily. A Stude V8 and auto will drop right in. Any possibility that you can post a couple of pictures?

Sorry guys, I can't figure out how to add a pic. After checking through the book more I am sure that is what I have. 52 with 51 front end. The taillights are 52. If you can tell me how, I will post pics.

Yup - you have a '52 with an earlier front clip on it. Probably a 51 front clip as there's a bit of difference to the location of the wheel well for 1950.
If the grille panels have little square sections that are about 3/8ths inch or so square, it's a 51 front. If the grille sections have roughly 1 inch squares, it's likely a '50 front section.
But that 12G number definitly pegs the car as a '52 Champion;) at heart.

Miscreant at large.
